Redoing My Fairy Garden

Spring is finally here and I know you are as happy about it as I am! I've had so much fun this week working on my fairy garden. I planted it in an old red wagon several years ago and this year it needed to be completely redone.  After filling it with all new potting soil, I added two new fairy girls.   I wanted the scene to tell a story of one cute fairy running down the path with her corgi and two fairy friends anxiously waiting at the end of the path.

I lost my tiny owl when I was dumping out the old rocks and soil and was so lucky to find him.  He's about an inch tall.  The tree is a cedar seedling that I found in my flower bed.

My garden will be finished after I find a few new plants.  I'm looking for just the right container to make a second garden for a gift.

There's An Owl in the Cedar Tree

Last week I spent some time sprucing up my fairy garden.  I finally found a tiny owl to perch in the cedar tree.  I planted this garden in a vintage red wagon last year. The cedar tree came out of my flower border.  It's about twelve inches tall and I cut back all new growth to keep it small.

I think the fairy is telling her corgi about the owl in the tree.

I added this beautiful moss that I found at a garden shop and was pleasantly surprised when it started blooming.

These "hens and chickens" grow with a sticky web covering them.  They have multipled and have several little chicks around the bottom.  They are planted behind the fairy house but they may get too large and I'll have to remove them.

I made this garden with a cute gnome in a wire teapot for a gift.  The green spots in the holes are the baby "hen and chickens" from the fairy garden.  I can't wait until they start growing so I can give it to it's new owner.
