And The Winner Is...

I am excited to have new friends and readers of my blog and this giveaway has been fun!  Karen Mertens and I have so many similar interests and one of them is collecting buttons.  When I drew her name this morning, it didn't take long to pick out a selection of old and new buttons for her from my collection.  Notice the button card on the top.  It sold for 10 cents!  In addition to the buttons, I'm sending her a vintage handkerchief and a wire bird's nest pendant that I made.  Karen, please send me your mailing address by email.

Introducing Sweet Bonnie and a Five Year Anniversary Giveaway

A few weeks we welcomed Bonnie to our family. She is a two year old brindle Cardigan corgi. I wasn't looking for another corgi but things just seemed to happen and before I knew it she was my new bed partner.  She is a perfect addition to our family! She loves Perl and they have so much fun playing together.  That relieves me and Miss Heidi (two old ladies) of the responsibility of entertaining Perl all day.  

We love her!

My old shoes have thrived this summer because of all the rain.  The moss voluntarily came up on them and there's even a maple tree growing out of the one on the left.

Giveaway!

 

I can't believe I've written 500 posts.  It  has been fun and I've made such amazing blogging friends.  To celebrate, I'll be filling one of these coronets (cones) with Valentine goodies for the winner.  To win, leave a comment on this post before February 5.

 

My plan was to have a picture of all the little goodies I'm using but these past two days have been crazy for me.  Yesterday I came home from running errands to find water dripping out of my kitchen ceiling light.  I mopped up the water, put a bucket under the leak and set out to find out where to turn off the water coming into my house.  (This is something I should have known since I've lived here for 24 years). My  plumber cut open the ceiling this morning and found two leaks in the copper pipes. You should see my kitchen.  It's a disaster area but I  remind myself that it could be much worse.

A Gift from the Herbal Lady

Saturday I received the most beautiful card and pin in the mail from Nancy at Lemon Verbena Lady's Herb Garden.  I was one of the winners in her recent giveaway.  The pin could not have been more perfect for me, my favorite color is purple and I love pansies!

Not only is Nancy a herbal expert, but she is does a great job of movie reviews. We email back and forth about the movies we have seen or want to see.  If Nancy says "don't bother to see that one", I don't.  We have very similar tastes in  movies.

Bird's Nest Giveaway

My one year blogiversary is coming up soon and I'm giving away one bird's nest pendant like the ones in the picture.  I also make a nest that has blue/green eggs like robin's eggs.  This pendant is made of silver wire (not sterling) and looks great on a silver chain or a black necklace cord.

Deb of  Just Cats In-Home Care blog is the winner of my giveaway and I'll be putting these cards in the mail to her  as soon as I get her mailing address.  Deb lives in Ontario, Canada.  I read her blog regularly and love hearing about her catsitting and rescues. 

I found the  perfect clasp for my button bracelet at Hobby Lobby yesterday.  It's the right size and  the perfect color!  I wanted you to see how the bracelet looks with the new clasp.  I still have at least a couple hundred buttons  and may make a bracelet for my Etsy shop.
