Beaufort, South Carolina

I thought the old houses in Charleston and Savannah were beautiful, but these are even more amazing.  The oak tree in front of this one looked like it was planted in the 1800's when the house was built.  It was hugh!

These houses were facing the river in Beaufort.  What a beautiful view!

This picture of the ocean and the pure white sandy beach were taken from the top of the lighthouse below.  You could see for miles and miles!
The Hunting Island Lighthouse was built in 1873.

Sunday in Savannah, Georgia

The weather was beautiful today and Savannah was great!
This is the Mercer Williams House which was built by the great grandfather of Johnny Mercer in 1868.  Johnny was  the colorful main character in the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
I met Miss Lola and her family from Atlanta, GA, at the City Market  and got my much needed corgi fix.  I even made sure I got some corgi hair on the black capris I was wearing.  She is so pretty, reminds me of my Heidi!

Paula Dean's Famous Restaurant

The line was too long and we decided not to take the time to eat at Paula's.

Just one of many beautiful old homes in Savannah!
Another beautiful old building.

Savannah's City Hall

Summer flowers are still beautiful in Savannah.  What a perfect day!

Trip to South Carolina

The trip to SC was long yesterday, but very enjoyable!  It was a beautiful fall day, slightly cool, with  beautiful blue skies and fluffy white clouds.  Once we got as far south as North Carolina we started seeing field after field of snowy white cotton ready to be harvested.

We had lunch in Lumberton, SC, and I thought these pigs on the roof  were cute!  They were made from several sizes of metal drums

My Friend's Beautiful Bathroom

I visited a friend yesterday and wanted to share pictures of her beautiful black and white bathroom.
Her Halloween decorations make it especially interesting this month.   One wall is painted black so the giant spider and the witches hat on the clawfoot tub don't show up really well in this picture.

Susan Paley Pitcher

This is my daughter's 2-quart pitcher by artist Susan Paley.  I have posted about her vases in the past and thought you'd enjoy seeing this pitcher. There are different ladies painted on each side and the colors are beautiful. I think it's my favorite Susan Paley piece that I've seen.

Snow Creek Farm Harvest Festival

Snow Creek Farm

This past weekend, my friend and I attended an open house  and sale in Woodford, VA.  The house and the yard were beautifully decorated for the fall. The ladies who own this business open the farm to the public four times a year. All year they search for unique items to sell.

The had antiques, vintage linens, candles, honey, seasonal items, china and numerous other items.
Check out their facebook page for future dates.
