My Grandparents

Last night I was cleaning off my desk and came across an envelope of very old pictures.  One of which was this picture of my grandparents that I'd like to share with you.  Don't they look like the couple that was on the corn flake box many years ago, no disrespect intended.   Unfortunately,  I didn't know them.  She died when I was very young and he passed before I was born.  She looks like a very sweet, hard working lady and he is somewhat handsome.  It makes me sad that I never had the experience of doing things with my grandparents.  I can imagine collecting eggs with her or helping to make biscuits.

Hope you all have a great weekend.  Hanna and I are off to the Children's Hospital this morning for a visit.  We didn't go last month because of the weather.  She had a bath last night and we have her Valentine bandana ready.  Maybe we'll get some pictures today.

  1. It's funny, but I was doing the same thing last night. I love old pictures and imagining what their lives were like. Wouldn't we like some of your grandmother's biscuits! They make a cute valentine couple.

  3. Oh, I can't wait to see pictures of Hanna at the Children's Hopsital! I'm sure all of the kids will just love her!

I love old family pictures. They are hard to come by in my family though.

    Hope you have fun today!

  4. I never knew my mother's parents, but my dad's were part of my life until I was almost 30. I know the kids will love to pet Hanna at the hospital.

  5. Remember when women all wore aprons? I don't think my mother ever walked into the kitchen without putting on her apron first. I knew my grandparents and I can still remember two of my great grandmothers. I should remember my one great grandfather since he died after my great grandmother, but I just have no recollection of him. I was told he was a rather cold person and my guess is that he never paid any attention to me, so I don't remember him.

  6. They are a wonderful couple and I am sure they were hard working, people. I’m sorry you didn’t get to know them. I was so lucky to know all 4 of mine and I know that was truly a blessing. I hope you had a great day with the children--I am sure you got lots of smiles :)
Did you get the pic I sent you?

  7. Once a Therapy Dog, always a Therapy Dog. It is so much fun taking the dogs to visit at the hospital. My Emma is 14 now, and she can't physically handle all the walking she once did at the hospital. She still 'visits', though ... today she greeted every person who was waiting at the vet's office on her way in AND on her way out. That's my girl!
