Tablerunner

A friend sent me an old tablerunner with this beautiful hand crocheted trim on each end.  The fabric was very worn with several holes.  I removed the end trims, made a new fabric runner and attached the trims to it.  I also machine embroidered  teapots on each end.  I was so pleased with the end result and put it on a small buffet in my dining room.
I love recycling!

  2. I love YOUR recycling. What a clever idea. The tea pot is adorable. I have old cotton lace from pillow cases my great grandmother made. Maybe my mother could do something like this. I never learned to sew. Enjoyed my visit!

  4. That is beautiful Sharon! I was just given a group of crocheted table scarves by a friend that were made by her grandmother and I love them. There is just something extra special about vintage handmade lovelies...

  5. That is very nice, good way to keep that old hand crocheted lace doing it's job! I hate to see such handiwork get tossed because of holes in the cloth itself.

  9. You did a fantastic job on that Sharon! I wouldn't had thought about taking the lace off and using it on a new project! I need to think outside the box more don't I! That truly is some beautiful lace. I'm glad you saved it from the trash!

    Have a Great Day!
