Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens

I spent yesterday morning at Lewis Ginter enjoying the flowers before it got too hot.  I especially wanted to see this twig structure built back in the spring by international artist, Patrick Dougherty.  I read that it took at least five tractor and trailer loads of twigs and saplings to construct it.

This is a beautiful pale yellow marigold.  I  have never seen marigolds this color.

I love this view of the "tree house" in the Children's Garden.

By 11:00 the heat was unbearable so my visit was short but very enjoyable!

  2. Just the aroma alone could have made this walk splendid for even a blind person.

  4. Were those twig huts sturdy? Here in NE those would have blown over the first night they were up. Great photos. Love the flowers. Have you ever been to the Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha! if you ever come this way put them on your list.
Our little bit of heaven in the midwest.

  8. I love the Dougherty garden sculpture! He had one in the town where my daughter was going to school and we had lots of fun going through it!
