Relaxing Weekend!

This was a relatively quiet weekend for me.  Saturday I went to the flea market and came home with a few great finds.  One was this Laura Ashley dress for $2  that has never been worn.  I have a friend who loves these dresses and I'll give it to her if she wants it, otherwise "Lily" in the garden will be wearing it.

I also found three beautiful teacups made by Tuscan in the Dovedale pattern.  I love the rose inside the cup.

I've had lots of quality time with the furgirls (maybe too much).  Last night Arabelle came inside and her mouth was completely closed.  She looked up at me and spit a cicada out on the floor.  She had the entire bug in her mouth, wings and all!  He seemed unharmed so I put him outside.  That girl is such a clown.  She makes me laugh everyday!

ME????

  1. You find the neatest things at the flea market, I just can't get over it. Arabelle is a hoot! You didn't like what she brought you? Life would be so boring without animals wouldn't it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the lovely gift I got from you in the mail yesterday!! I was so awsomely surprised!! Can't wait till the girls get back so I can show them. It is even prettier than in the photos. I will post about it soon and link back to you.

  2. So love that dress & fabric print, Sharon. We have Katydid's right now & oh, the ruckus they are making. Don't you just love it when they bring mommy a 'treat'.
    Have a beautiful week ~

  3. I would have snapped up those great finds too!

We've had a lot of cicadas this year--I feel like I'm in a science fiction movie because they're so loud!

  6. What pretty finds! I love Laura Ashley dresses. They used to make patterns and I've made several of the dresses. The print is so pretty. Love the teacups, too.

  7. Thank God for dogs! I could not want my life without them! That is amazing she just kept it in her closed mouth - she was bringing you a present :-)

That teacup is precious. I have some old Bone china coffee demitasse sets (Sammeltassen) from Germany. They're going on 60 years old and I tell you what, those thin cups are remarkably strong. You can definitely appreciate good craftsmanship and guess what, drinking coffee or tea out of those tastes even better...
