Yesterday was such a beautiful fall day! I did several loads of laundry and even hung my sheets outside to dry. I know, that's a bit old fashioned but don't you agree that they smell so fresh when you bring them in.
I was expecting a visit from my former co-worker and dear friend later in the afternoon. It's been several months since we were together so I jotted down one word reminders on a notepad so I wouldn't forget things I wanted to ask her. I also know that's a sign that I'm getting old!
Our visit was delightful! She's going to be a first time grandmother in the spring and we talked about that a lot. It was fun catching up on all the happenings at the middle school where I used to work. We covered so many topics in such a short time and decided we should have a designated night to get together once a month.
I am rich with wonderful friends and thankful for each one of them!
Hi, Sharon,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day. I feel so happy when I read other people's stories about their friends and family.
And there is a special scent of freshly dried linens from
the clothesline in the fresh air and sunshine!
Warm Regards,
Susan
Sounds wonderful - nothing like a good visit with a friend, old or new, to pump life back into me.
ReplyDeleteSadly, the neighborhood I live in does not allow clotheslines - but I'm thinking I should sneak a few things on hangars outside. Nothing like the feel and smell - outdoors.
It's so nice to have a friend that you can visit with, face to face. I know what you mean about making notes. :-)
ReplyDeleteI used to love when I could line dry the bedding - until my Dr said I was bringing pollen into the house - then I only hung them out during the winter, takes longer for them to dry, but that wonderful smell is still there!
Have a great day!
Here most people still hang washing outside. I enjoy hanging them out but hate taking them back in lol. Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your friend.

You are so, so right about friends!! I really love getting together with friends!! I have two that I get together with once as month as well--We've done it for more than 10 years and I so look forward to it!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely day including the sheets hanging out on the line. I adore your little picture. Friends are wonderful...
ReplyDeleteI think that is so neat that you made notes on what you wanted to talk about. It shows love and anticipation. How wonderful for you both.
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh about jotting words on a note pad to remember to ask. I have to do that all the time! Sounds like a wonderful visit.
