Last Friday I went to a "once in a lifetime" estate sale for me! The estate was selling three beautiful dollhouses and the contents of each were being sold separately. I bought several electric lamps for $3 each which is a small fraction of what they would cost new. I also got this pretty girl. I redressed her and gave her a doll I got in Vermont many years ago. She's a lovely playmate for the little girl I already have.
These are pictures hanging in that room.
Both of the lights in this room I got from the sale. The dollhouse is a Hallmark ornament.
Raggedy Ann and Andy are about thirty years old and are made from dough.
Friday night I thought of all the things I wished I had bought at the sale and made a list. Saturday morning I went back to pick up my items and some things for a friend whose doing a miniature tea room. About an hour before I got there someone bought the entire contents of the houses! This was definitely a case of "you snooze, you loose!" I should have been there when the sale started that morning.
I also got this little bag of groceries with the receipt sticking out the top.

My mom had a big miniature house! Looks like some great finds.

OH, that's too bad. But you did get some great items before they were gone. What a beautiful
ReplyDeletedoll house, that Corgi portrait is fantastic!
How'd you do that!?! I love it.
I've had the same kind of thing happen to me--But you got some lovely items, and the fun of finding pieces for your beautiful doll houses continues! :-))

Love all the goodies you found. Sorry you didn't get the last of what you wanted. It sounds like you had a great time anyway. Love your dollhouse.

Enchanting (once again). I think adding another little girl would actually feel like there was another person in the room. Does it?
ReplyDeleteI do like all of the minis you found.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Sharon! Those are just too cute! There is just something so sweet about those little miniatures. I love the corgi picture! Sorry you didn't get the other things you wanted to get when you went back. I do the same thing sometimes at a local thrift store. I bought a big mirror 2 months ago and had to take it back because it didn't fit in my truck no matter how I hard I tried to get it to fit. I might get to get it if it's still there because I see a new bigger truck in my future! lol Isn't that funny!
