I spent this past weekend visiting my sister who lives about 100 miles away in a small town called Weems, VA. I couldn't resist posting this picture of their post office that has a beautiful view of the Rappahannock River.
We had so much fun going to yard sales, thrift stores and consignment shops. We both brought home some great bargains.
My sister is a great cook and makes the world's best crab cakes. Her secret is using the recipe on the back of Old Bay Seasoning. A dinner of fresh seafood and summer vegetables is my favorite!
President Obama was in my neighborhood on Saturday and stopped by a produce stand about a mile from my house to purchase Hanover tomatoes. Our county is famous for its tomatoes.
I hope you had a great weekend too!
That is the most adorable post office I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing. I agree about fresh seafood and summer veggies. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWow - President Obama? How exciting. Crab cakes and summer veggies - sounds so good. Believe it or not - I don't remember ever eating a crab cake. I could use a good recipe :)

Mom,
ReplyDeleteWhat friend was on the post office porch? :)
I don't know who that friend was, I assume he belonged to the postal worker inside.
ReplyDeleteI knew there was something more between us than movies! Crabcakes! My friend, Bonnie and I when we travel are obligated to find the best crabcakes! Lucky you! Glad you and you sister had such a good time together. A pat for my girls. xxoo Nancy
