Trompe L'oeil

I was in a beautiful  seaside village in Nova Scota several years ago and came across this fence in someone's yard.   The image is called "trompe l'oeil" which is an art  technique involving  realistic imagery to create the optical illusion that the object is three dimensional. If you click on the picture, you can see more detail including the sea gull and the writing on the newspaper.  This is one of my favorite pictures from that trip!
