Meet "Hoosier", the Mouse

A few years ago, my daughter bought a lovely antique Hoosier cabinet for her kitchen.  The cabinet had a hole (a little larger than a quarter) in one of the doors right where it meets the metal work space.  I decided we needed to add some interest to this hole and my feeble attempt to create a mouse looked like this.  After we shoved him in the hole, all that was showing was his cute little face.

"Hoosier", the mouse, experienced a grueling attack by this lobster handsome cat and he was missing for several months.  During the holidays he was found under the refrigerator with other cat toys.  I've reattached his ear and  he's ready to go back in the  hole in the cabinet.  It'll be interesting to see how long he stays there.

I didn't do it!

  2. You must remember Sharon that kitty is innocent until proven guilty! lol That is a cute little mouse! I've seen another blog that I think she quit blogging but she had a little mouse family she made and painted a hole in her baseboard. Seems like I recall that she had some miniature furniture sitting outside that hole too. It was too cute! Your mouse reminds me of that.

  4. I could have told you to look under the refrigerator if I had known. We often find missing objects under there. Our cats stay quite busy.

    You made an adorable mouse!

  8. How funny. The mouse is cute as well as the cat. My cat does the same thing. I am always looking for things she has taken and finding them in the most usual places. Blessings,Kathleen
