Secret Millionaire

Soon the lilacs will be blooming!

I don't watch TV  often and there aren't many shows that hold my attention.  I'm usually thinking about something else that I need to be doing and can't justify sitting  long enough to watch an entire show.  However, last night I watched Secret Millionaire and loved it.  Did anyone else see that episode?  It featured several volunteer organizations in Knoxville, TN, and I loved the twin ladies who ran Love's Kitchen.

Hope everyone has a great week!  There's  a little less than two weeks left before the first day of spring.

First Daffodils and Giveaway

I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I looked in my side yard and I have two daffodils blooming.  They are so beautiful and like a ray of sunshine!   It's looking a lot like springtime in my neighborhood!

Last week I made several greeting cards and decided  they will be part of my giveaway when I reach 100 followers.  I'm getting close!

Martin Sheen

That's me on the left, Martin in the middle, and my friend on the right.

In 1983 my best friend and I were extras in a TV movie that was filmed locally.  It was about the assassination of John F. Kennedy.   At the end of the day, the film crew needed two ladies  who could wear the two nurses uniforms they had for the evening filming. (Sounds like a Cinderella story, doesn't it?)  We were lucky enough to make them work and were extras in a hospital emergency room scene where Kennedy (Sheen)  was transported after being shot.

Martin Sheen was so easy to talk too and very friendly!  Blair Brown was Jackie Kennedy and she was also very nice.   Such fun memories!

Henny Penny Rose Garden

Yesterday I came across the most beautiful blog called Henny Penny Rose Garden.  She writes lots of useful chicken information and I thought Charlotte's mom might find something helpful.  The blogger lives in Summerville, SC, which is one of my favorite southern towns.  I was there last fall and took  pictures of these beautiful homes.

Blake Washington House  c.1862
William Prioleau House  c. 1896

Oliver House c. 1888

Kracke House  c. 1886
Summerville is an beautiful town with lots of southern charm and Spanish moss.
This little cottage named "Tickled Pink" was probably built in the 40's or 50's.

Almost Time to Celebrate!

When I started my blog last summer, I never dreamed I'd ever have 100 people who are interested in what I write about.  I'm  getting close and when I have 100 followers,  I'm going to celebrate with a giveaway!

I enjoyed True Grit  but it wasn't one of my favorites.  I saw previews of Water for Elephants that opens in April and it looks like it's going to be a great movie.  Has anyone read the book?  I am so happy that The King's Speech got best picture on the awards last night!

Have a great week!
