A friend sent me an old tablerunner with this beautiful hand crocheted trim on each end. The fabric was very worn with several holes. I removed the end trims, made a new fabric runner and attached the trims to it. I also machine embroidered teapots on each end. I was so pleased with the end result and put it on a small buffet in my dining room.
I love recycling!
Sharon, This runner is beautiful! I love the teapots, and especially the crochet trim! And I am so impressed with your Victorian dollhouse! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love YOUR recycling. What a clever idea. The tea pot is adorable. I have old cotton lace from pillow cases my great grandmother made. Maybe my mother could do something like this. I never learned to sew. Enjoyed my visit!
ReplyDeleteThis is some good recycling. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful Sharon! I was just given a group of crocheted table scarves by a friend that were made by her grandmother and I love them. There is just something extra special about vintage handmade lovelies...

That is very nice, good way to keep that old hand crocheted lace doing it's job! I hate to see such handiwork get tossed because of holes in the cloth itself.
ReplyDeleteThis really is lovely! I have a few of these that belonged to my Mother, and they are among my treasures.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! This looks lovely! I love recycling too - anything to keep stuff out of the landfills a bit longer, right? Nice work!
ReplyDeleteYour runner is absolutely beautiful.I love the teapots and lace and it looks really pretty on the buffet.Great job! Hope you have a very nice day!
ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job on that Sharon! I wouldn't had thought about taking the lace off and using it on a new project! I need to think outside the box more don't I! That truly is some beautiful lace. I'm glad you saved it from the trash!
ReplyDeleteHave a Great Day!
