Over the years, I have accumulated a large collection of buttons. I've wanted to make a bracelet out of silver buttons. After trying a couple different methods, I finally found something I like. I started with a 7/8 inch piece of belt webbing and sewed the buttons on by hand. I finished the back with twill tape. The closure is Velcro and I'm not sure about that. Any suggestions?
It looks great the way it is, but I'm thinking the Velcro might be too bulky? Is that what you meant? I really don't have any suggestions, but I sure like the way the silver buttons look. A really good idea.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Sharon! You sure did have a lot of beautiful silver buttons. It seems like I've seen a gold button bracelet that was made using the elastic. I've never made one so I really don't have any suggestions. I think you did a wonderful job on yours!

Hi Sharon:
ReplyDeleteYour bracelet is beautiful! Perhaps taking a magnetic clasp and attaching half to each end would work for a closure?
Hope you have a restful weekend, my friend.
Love,
Donna
I love that. I'm a bracelet girl, too. That's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is cool!
ReplyDeleteNot sure how the closure will work but the bracelet sure is beautiful. Hugs, Ginger
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful Sharon!! I love bracelets-but sure don't have as many buttons collected! I've also sewn them on wide elastic-comes in black or white and then is easy to stretch on and off. Or get a clasp at ACMoore or Michaels-several kinds there. Love the all silver !!
