Miss Arabelle all dressed up in her red bandana! |
I decided this week to take Arabelle to the assisted living center to visit our friend. She hasn't had training to be a therapy dog, but she is very sociable. The plan was to have a short visit with our friend and deliver the candy sundae I made for her. However, when we arrived, most of the residents were outside for an ice cream social and Arabelle got to visit with lots of folks. She did quite well! Maybe because Hanna is so much older, she's willing to sit for a while and visit with each person. Not Arabelle, she wanted to say "hi" and "goodbye" in the same sentence, but they loved her anyway.
This was made with buttermints I found at Michael's. |
We had a great visit and I'm sure I'll be taking Arabelle again. Also, I'm sure Heidi won't be going. She hates wheels and bites the lawnmower when it's running. Needless to say, I don't trust her around wheelchairs!
That last comment was funny. Glad to see your dogs are social. What a NEAT thing to do - for everyone! Your Corgis are awesome!
ReplyDeleteArabelle looks so neat, tidy and especially cute! Who wouldn't just be so happy to see her?
ReplyDeleteI like your 4th of July "Sundae", very neat!
I'm sure they loved her! She is so beautiful and fluffy! That's a cute idea for a sundae!

What a cutie Arabelle is and what a social butterfly she is too, I'd be happy with one of her hellos and good-bye's!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!
PS: LOVED your post on Culpeper, I've not been there in a long time, and I'd forgotten what charm it has!
What a lovely photo of Miss Arabelle.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful that you an take your dogs to visit with people. I wish I could with Gizzy because everyone thinks he's so cute, but he's older and quite moody!
Have a nice 4th of July weekend!
Arabelle has quite the social calendar to keep up. She only has a few seconds for each of her adoring fans. xx, shell
